Terms of Service

By accessing or using the Tough Cut LLC website and services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

Tough Cut LLC provides professional ice skate blade sharpening, profiling, and related services through its physical operations and digital platforms, including this website and the Blade Base platform. The Profile Guru tool and any other digital tools are provided for informational and convenience purposes only.

Tough Cut LLC operates two digital platforms: this website (Stay Sharp), our public-facing resource for skate sharpening and profiling education, and the BladeBase platform, where registered users book services, track equipment, and access our marketplace. These Terms apply to your use of Stay Sharp. Use of BladeBase is subject to its own terms, presented during registration.

SMS text messaging is available through BladeBase accounts; see our SMS / Text Messaging section below.

By providing your mobile phone number and opting in to one or more SMS categories, you expressly consent to receive text messages from Tough Cut in the categories you selected: transactional order and appointment updates, shop alerts and closure notices, and/or marketing messages. Each category requires its own separate consent.

SMS opt-in is collected through BladeBase account registration, and your consent and messaging preferences are managed within your BladeBase account.

• Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchase of any product or service.
• Message frequency varies based on your account activity and selected categories.
• Message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier for details.
• You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by updating your messaging preferences in your BladeBase account. Reply HELP for help, or contact us at bo@toughcut.co or 615-212-8710.
• Your mobile information and messaging consent will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. See our Privacy Policy for details.

The Profile Guru tool generates blade profile suggestions based on user-provided token allocations. These suggestions are:

• Algorithmic and data-driven starting points, not professional blade-fitting assessments.
• Not a substitute for a proper stride video analysis conducted by a qualified technician.
• Subject to change as our methodology evolves.

Tough Cut LLC is not responsible for any outcomes resulting from reliance on Guru tool recommendations without professional consultation.

All content on this website — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, blade profile data, matching algorithms, and software — is the exclusive property of Tough Cut LLC and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and trade secret laws.

The blade profile matching algorithm is proprietary. You may not copy, reverse engineer, reproduce, or redistribute any part of our algorithmic methodology without express written permission.

You agree not to:

• Use automated tools or bots to access our services in a manner that exceeds normal usage patterns.
• Attempt to circumvent our rate-limiting or security measures.
• Submit false or misleading information through any of our tools or forms.
• Reproduce or redistribute proprietary content without authorization.

Bookings made through Blade Base or other linked platforms are subject to any additional terms presented at the time of booking. Tough Cut LLC reserves the right to refuse service at its sole discretion.

Pricing is subject to change. Any quoted prices are valid only at the time of quotation and may vary based on equipment condition and service complexity.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tough Cut LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service — including, without limitation, damages to skate equipment arising from service.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

The Service is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Nashville, Tennessee.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to this page. Your continued use of the Service following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
